Whiskey ''Finlaggan Red Wine Cask'' - The Vintage Malt Whiskey Company

An exciting new addition to the Finlaggan family of Islay single malt Scotch whiskies. Many years ago, for the first time, large barrels from the Spanish region of Rioja where the famous Spanish red wines were aged were placed in the cellar. These barrels have contributed to Finlaggan's fame by giving truly particular notes. The result is a texture of soft, smoky, truly intriguing notes. The extraction from the oak barrels has given this whiskey a very particular natural coppery, rose gold colour. The first batch is limited to 7,000 bottles and bottled at 46% ABV without filtration. Nose: delicious sweet peat smoke and red berries. Taste: Smoked bacon and strawberries with notes of plums, sea salt and chewy, earthy peat. Peaty notes on the finish. Very particular.
